ON-Board@PCF: Empowering Our Manaaki Scholars for Workplace Success

This week, PCF proudly hosted ON-Board@PCF, an inspiring onboarding event for our Manaaki Scholars who have secured internships for the 2024-2025 summer. This event was designed to help scholars connect with one another, meet their host organisations, and prepare for success through a thoughtfully crafted program.

A Warm Pacific Welcome

The day began with a heartfelt Mihi Whakatau led by Dane Tumahai of Ngāti Whātua, welcoming our scholars to Tāmaki Makaurau – the place where many gather. This authentic Māori welcome set a tone of inclusivity, connection, and empowerment, bridging cultures and creating a sense of belonging for our Pacific scholars.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dane for sharing his knowledge and cultural insights, creating an unforgettable start to the day.

The presence of PCF Board Members, Professor Rouben Azizian and Chairperson Anne Fitisemanu, added further gravitas to the event as they shared words of wisdom and encouragement for the scholars.

Global Inspiration: Alumni Encouragement

Our alumni network continues to inspire! Tapuakiloua Ioane and Daniel Lip, joining us virtually from Timor-Leste, shared heartfelt stories and valuable advice from their own experiences. Their reflections highlighted the enduring impact of PCF programs in creating meaningful connections and amplifying Pacific voices globally.
