Digital Arts and Culture initiative launched to support Pasifika artists

Digital ‘Moana Nui a Kiva’ an initiative launched by Creative New Zealand in joint partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), will support Pasifika artists in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands to work in collaboration through knowledge and skills sharing.

This initial partnership between the two organisations, highlights the value of Pasifika arts and culture by forging stronger relationships between New Zealand-based Pasifika and Oceania artists. This will be reflected through a range of digital initiatives that are designed to be delivered in the context of COVID-19,.

Diverse themes will be brought into focus through the digital initiative. These include: Global Moana Storytellers and Digital Collaborations. A concept for delivering a Digital Moana Festival will be undertaken by Creative New Zealand to build an ongoing pathway for Pasifika digital arts.
