Laulu Mac Leauanae appointed to Secretary for Culture & Heritage and Chief Executive, Manatū Taonga

Pacific Cooperation Foundation congratulates Laulu Mac Leauanae on his appointment to the position of Secretary for Culture and Heritage and Chief Executive, Manatū Taonga – Ministry for Culture and Heritage. 

Former CEO of PCF, Leauanae is currently the the Secretary for Pacific Peoples and Chief Executive at the Ministry for Pacific Peoples. Taking that role in 2017, he was instrumental in leading messaging to Pacific peoples during the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdowns. Most recently he has launched the All-of-Government Pacific Wellbeing Strategy. 

In his new role Leauanae will be responsible for providing strategic leadership across the diverse functions of the Ministry, delivering and supporting arts, media, heritage and sports organisations. The Ministry also advises the Government on cultural matters with the aim of strengthening and enriching the diverse cultures that make up Aotearoa. 

Pacific Cooperation Foundation wishes Laulu Mac Leauanae well on the next step of his journey, as a Pacific leader.
