Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy

Governor General of New Zealand

Pacific Cooperation Foundation’s Patron is Her Excellency the Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy. The newly appointed Governor General of New Zealand takes over former Patron at PCF, His Excellency Lieutenant General the Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae. When Dame Reddy – a lawyer and non-executive director – became the 21st Governor General in September 2016, she became the third woman to be appointed to the position, after Catherine Tizard and Sylvia Cartwright.

At the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Dame Reddy was appointed a Dame Companion of the NZ Order of Merit for services to the arts and business, and in June 2016, she was appointed as a Dame of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. She was promoted to an additional Dame Grand Companion of the NZ Order of Merit and appointed an additional Companion of the Queen’s Service Order in June in preparation of becoming Governor-General.
