Lia Mo Line Pasifika
Lia mo Line is the perfect example of Pacific People taking one idea and making it uplift the collective.
On one level, they design and sell merchandise. On another, they created an e-commerce marketplace for artisans that has become a catalyst for creating new economic opportunities that will help Pasifika and Indigenous communities thrive.
Celina Tupou, owner of Lia mo Line, because she saw her own mother and her friends in Tonga making beautiful handicrafts, weaving and tapa, but having no way to formally sell their products. She wanted to create a platform where Pacific people across the diaspora could earn money from the products they made.
They are passionate Pacific climate change voices and they advocate for Pacific issues with their social media posts and merchandise that coincide with events happening in the Pacific.
Their Pasifika Mutual Aid Collective raises money through the sale of fundraiser merchandise - most recently for the Tongan Disaster Fund.
