Polyfest Takes Centre Stage 23 - 26 March 2022

The Pacific Cooperation Foundation celebrates Polyfest, the world’s largest Pacific dance festival from 23 to 26 March, 2022. The four-day annual event showcases the vibrant dance, culture, costumes and traditional music of the Pacific peoples.

Currently in its 75th year, Polyfest, The Māori and Pacific Islands Cultural Festival will feature students from Auckland’s Secondary Schools competing on six stages. The event provides a platform for Pacific youth to display pride in their cultural identity, diverse heritage and traditions: and through their performances perpetuate the rich cultural legacy of the Pacific Islands. 

Performances across the duration of the event will spotlight the culture of the Cook Islands, Māori, Niue, Samoa, Tonga. The Diversity stage will feature performances from varied cultural groups including Tokelau, Fijian, Chinese, Korean and Indian.

The theme for the ‘2022 ASB Polyfest’ theme is ‘Family’. The online event will be livestreamed to audiences.
