Celebrating Epetoma o te reo Māori Kūki Āirani

Celebrating Cook Islands Language Week from Sunday 30th July - Saturday 05th August 2023

Here at Pacific Cooperation Foundation, this special week holds immense significance for us as an organisation committed to strengthening identity, deepening relationships, and amplifying voices throughout the Pacific region.

Language is not merely a means of communication; it is the essence of culture and heritage. It binds us together, connecting us to our roots and shaping our collective identity.

Cook Island Language Week provides a unique opportunity for us to honour and preserve the rich linguistic traditions that form the rich cultural tapestry of the Cook Islands.

This year holds exceptional importance for us. As proud sponsors of the Te Maeva Nui Festival 2023 here in Tāmaki Makarau, language, culture, and community are at the heart of what we do.  The festival is a celebration and the largest gathering globally of Cook Island people!

Our sponsorship is a testament to our commitment to strengthening the ties between Aotearoa and the Pacific region. We believe that by supporting events like the Te Maeva Nui, we can foster and enhance a strong sense of pride and unity among Cook Islanders while also promoting cultural exchange and understanding throughout Te Moana Nui a Kiwa.

The Pacific Cooperation Foundation strives to create opportunities that empower individuals and communities, ensuring their voices are heard and celebrated on a global stage.

Through initiatives like Cook Island Language Week and the Te Maeva Nui Festival, we hope to create lasting connections and build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

As we embark on this journey of celebration and cultural appreciation, we extend aroha to our partners, supporters, and the entire Pacific community.

Together, let us embrace the beauty of language, preserve our rich heritage, and work hand in hand to amplify the voices of the Pacific.

Ātuitui’ia au ki te au peu o tōku kāinga Ipukarea,

 Meitaki ma’ata,
