Pacific Cooperation Foundation (PCF) Board Chair and Acting Chief Executive Fiso John Fiso is pleased to welcome Laree Taula to the team at PCF.
Laree Taula has been appointed to the newly created position of 'Partnerships and Special Projects Officer (Engagements, Reasearch & Data)' with the PCF, based in Wellington.
"This is a significant appointment for the PCF as it implements its five-year strategic plan to increase the Foundation's contribution to development and collaboration across New Zealand and the Pacific region," Fiso John Fiso said.
"Having a presence in New Zealand's capital city will enable the PCF to build stronger engagement and relations with key stakeholders such as the diplomatic core and Government.
Laree Taula who is of Samoan heritage, holds a Masters in Public Policy, an undergraduate degree in Political Science and postgraduate diploma in Journalism.
For the past three years, Laree has been working in Parliament as Private Secretary/Press Secretary for the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Regional Economic Development, Fletcher Tabuteau. She has also held a range of other key roles across the public sector, government and non-government.
"This position with the PCF aligns strongly with my core values and passion to serve and contribute to the Pacific community both in New Zealand and across the Pacific," Laree Taula said.
"I'm really excited to be joining PCF and helping to fulfil its vision and mission to increase cooperation and understanding amongst people of the Pacific region and to bring enduring economic, social and cultural benefits.
"I believe this newly created Wellington-based stakeholder engagement and profile building position, alongside PCF's refreshed vision and strategy, and newly appointed board, is a pivotal time for Pacific people in New Zealand and abroad," Laree Taula concludes.
