The signing of the Development Cooperation Agreement between Fiji and Samoa is the next step to releasing the untapped potential of the two countries' political and economic engagement.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama highlighted this last night at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) during his address at the welcome reception dinner for the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi.
"Our trade ties are strong and we're looking to build on that success through improvements to the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement, along with the signing of the Development Cooperation Agreement between our countries, which I believe is the next step to realising the untapped potential of our political and economic engagement," Mr Bainimarama said.
Mr Bainimarama said the success between two countries was collective and its future was shared.
Mr Malielegaoi acknowledged the Fijian Government and its people for the warm welcome and reception rendered to him and his delegation. He said Fiji had much to contribute in achieving the goals of the two Pacific Island countries.
