Helene is PCF’s newest Marketing and Communications intern following Constance Caruzzo’s departure. She resides in Noumea, New Caledonia and raised in the village of Bourail in the middle of New Caledonia’s West Coast.
Helene is proud of her Kanak heritage from her mother’s side, but she also acknowledges her French roots from her father’s side. Coming from a small family, Helene shares a close bond with her little brother Alban who is in his last year of high school.
When Helene started at Ecole de Gestion et de Commerce du Pacifique Sud (ECGS) Business School, she started to seriously consider her career, focusing on how she could be a role model for other Kanak women.
“I would like to create my own business and actively participate and contribute to the New Caledonia economy in every way I can,” she says.
As part of her school placement, Helene is a Marketing and Communications Assistant at Banque Caledonienne d’Investissement (BCI), regarded as New Caledonia’s most important bank. By the end of her placement and studies, she hopes to graduate and begin on her business ventures.
Helene is excited to be interning at PCF. Although she’s still adjusting to Auckland’s winter season, she says the PCF team have been warm and friendly. She is currently assisting PCF’s Marketing and Communications Manager Suzanne for PCF’s Pacific Wave Forum next week on August 6-8.
