Fiji, New Zealand’s largest trading partner in the Pacific region, is gearing up for its business mission led by the New Zealand Fiji Business Council (NZFBC). From June 25 – 27, delegates will be immersed in forging business relationships and looking at investment opportunities that will open up business ventures with an interest to strengthen Fiji’s economy.
It’s the fourth consecutive business mission and Mr. Chandar Sen, President of NZFBC, says this year’s programme will be based on the theme The ease of doing business in Fiji.
“One of the greatest benefits of doing business in Fiji is that it’s the launch pad to enter into other Pacific Island markets,” he says.
“You only need to look at our two-way trade with New Zealand, with trades in goods and services now surpassing $NZ 1billion.”
NZFBC will also co-host a conference with its sister organisation, Fiji NZ Business Council where Fiji Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama will present the keynote address. The theme of the conference is Fiji Moving Towards 2020.
Last year’s business mission saw Aquaheat, a New Zealand-owned heating business, launch their Fiji branch, which was a great highlight for the NZFBC.
