Renewable energy will be the focus of a New Zealand Pacific Business Council (NZPBC) After 5 event on October 18, hosted by TransNet NZ Ltd, in Auckland.
The After 5 Renewable Energy Showcase event has been born after the dramatic change seen over recent years in renewable energy technology ranging from lower cost solar installations, higher capacity energy storage systems to the advent of affordable electric vehicles.
All of these changes are leading to an exciting new sustainable future greatly reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
The evening will feature a range of guest speakers discussing various topics, including Phillip Hogg, who will provide an overview on Building Energy Management – introducing building energy monitoring to enable self-consumption and minimise renewable energy export to the grid.
David Reid will talk about the Latest in Solar Panel and Structural Frame Design.
He will focus on the latest Trina glass on glass panels and single pole frames dramatically reducing installation cost and construction time.
Redox Flow Energy Storage Systems will be the focus of Ed Cheeseman.
Ed will explore Vanadium redox flow energy storage systems, which have a designed 20 year life with a 100% depth of discharge (DOD), making them ideal for multi-cycle application for a variety of functions in peak shaving and off-grid applications.
Glenn Inkster will also provide insight into E Mobility, giving us an introduction to EV charging including load sharing for commercial fleet operations providing real-time local and remote energy consumption and financial monitoring.
Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive an EV Nissan E-NV200, Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Ionic, Mitsubishi Outlander at the After 5 event.
The event targets anyone who has an interest in renewable energy and/or doing business in the Pacific, or interested in working in the region.
