Tamati Norman has been elected for a second term as Chairman of the New Zealand Papua New Guinea Business Council (NZPNGBC) at its recently staged annual general meeting, in Auckland.
The Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Native Rituals is delighted to be back in the Chair’s post, and is looking forward to the challenge of attracting business investors from NZ to PNG and vice versa following the tumultuous general election in the Pacific’s largest island nation.
Meanwhile, Eric Van Dolan from Plant and Platform New Plymouth has been elected as Deputy Chairman for 2017.
Those attending the AGM were treated to a fantastic talk by former Governor General Sir Anand Satyanad, who has just returned from being a Commonwealth observer of the PNG general election.
“Here is to a great 2017-2018 year of business between New Zealand and Papua New Guinea,” Tamati says.
Planning is underway for a NZPNGBC trade mission to PNG in November, and the business council will also be hosting an After 5 event in the next month looking at the financial system and what the future holds for the PNG Forex, the Chair adds.
The dates for these events are yet to be confirmed.
Visit NZPNGBC for more information on the business council.
