After finishing as Chief Executive Officer at Pacific Cooperation Foundation (PCF) on June 30, Laulu Mac Leauanae has been welcomed into the Ministry of Pacific Peoples (MPP), at an Ava ceremony in Wellington.
Mac’s three-year appointment as the CE of MPP was recently announced, and on July 3, he was officially welcomed by Ministry staff and the Minister of Pacific People, Hon Alfred Ngaro.
Representatives of the PCF Board attended the function including Sir Laauli Michael Jones (KNZM), who spoke at the ceremony expressing his gratitude to Mac for all he has helped to accomplish at PCF, along with fellow Board member Nicole Metzger.
Former Board member Ngahiwi Tomoana (Ngati Kahungunu) was present, as well as PCF Programme Development Manager Leaupepe Taala Ralph Elika, and Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Ltd (PCBL) General Manager Natasha Meleisea, and Brother International (NZ) Limited’s Executive Chairman Graham Walshe – PCF’s key private sector sponsor.
Mac says he is overwhelmed by both his departure from PCF, and his welcome by MPP.
“It has been both a really joyful and sad occasion, in that I am leaving behind my PCF family, but I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities to serve the Pacific community through the Ministry.”
