Event Five
Access to clean, safe drinking water is a basic human right, but right now many children across the Pacific are getting sick and dying due to waterborne diseases from unsafe and dirty water. When clean water is scarce, every drop is precious.
That’s exactly what the ChildFund Water Run is about. It’s no ordinary race. In fact, it’s only (about) 1km, and racers are carrying 2 filled-to-the-brim buckets of water. You might be the fastest but it’s whoever ends the race with the most water that’ll be the ultimate champion.
On 21st February, 6 Kiwi celebs race to raise money for water projects to bring safe clean drinking water to the Pacific. You can support the work happening in the Pacific by donating to the ChildFund Water Run at childfund.org.nz/waterrun
The ChildFund Water Run takes place in Auckland at 8am 21 February 2024 at Commercial Bay, Te Komititanga Square (Lower Queen St, opposite the Ferry Building).
